Prior to working together, Emily offers a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation. This is done for a few reasons. One, choosing a therapist can be a difficult process and Emily wants to ensure that she would be a good fit before moving forward. Two, this also may increase accessibility for some folks who may be busy or want to get a session on the calendar as soon as possible. Lastly, Emily feels strongly about making sure that you understand her insurance and billing practices so there are no surprises down the line.
Emily is currently paneled with multiple insurances including Oscar Health, United Healthcare, Oxford, Aetna, Cigna, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Colorado. This means she will be able to work with you to accept these insurances. Please note that a psychiatric diagnosis is required for insurance reimbursement, and couples therapy is often not covered by insurance. If you have any questions or concerns, Emily is happy to discuss this with you in consult or in session.
Emily also works with clients taking private pay, or in other words those who may not want to use insurance. Emily charges $150 for a 45 minute session, and takes on a limited amount of couples for $200 per session.
Emily offers a limited number of sliding scale appointments. This means that treatment prices are based on each person's income and potential number of dependents. This helps to make therapy accessible and affordable for those who are lower income or who may not have insurance. Emily will work with clients who are eligible for this option to determine a fee that works for them.
